 Bellevue East had no answer for Bellevue West in a much anticiaped showdown friday night. The Chieftains suprised the T-Birds by recovering an onside kick on the opening kickoff, but that was it in terms of excitement as West rolled up a 48-nothing win. Silas Fluellen threw for 270 yards and 6 touchdowns to lead the wining attack. East picked up 183 yards on the ground and added 92 through the air. The Chieftains will take on Omaha South Friday night.

09-16 The Chieftains broke away from a scoreless tie at halftime and pulled out a 28-7 win over Lincoln High.  Ronnell Cutler scored two touchdowns for East, which is now 2-1 on the year.
