It was not the finish or the start that Coach Mark Fritch envisioned when the 2005 football season got underway. Not that it wasn't an inspired effort by the Titans, but falling to cross town rival Papillion Lavista in overtime was heartbreaking. A tenacious defense held the Monarchs to just 2 field goals in the 1st half while the Titans put two touchdowns on the board for a 14-6 halftime advantage. The dagger in the chest came from Chris Meier, who hit a 33 yard field goal in the closing seconds of regulation. After South was stopped on 3rd down in overtime, the Titans went for it on 4th down and was stopped. Meier came on and kicked the winning 3 pointer.
The schedule gets tougher as Lincoln SW comes to town this Friday night.
