October 28

The #1 Millard West Wildcats lost to #3 Creighton Prep 6-13 at Phelps Field Wednesday night.

The Wildcats got on the board first with two first quarter field goals by Justin Onken from 36 and 32 to give the Wildcats a 6-0 halftime lead. Millard West's defense held the Junior Jay's scoreless in the first half but were unable to prevent Creighton Prep from scoring on a two yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

The Wildcats attempted a strong comeback with 3 minutes remaining in the game but were unable to score from the Prep 1-yard  line before the clock ran out.

October 21

The #1 ranked Millard West Wildcats defeated the visiting Benson Bunnies 35-0 Thursday night at Buell Stadium.

Millard West took an early 21-0 first quarter lead started by Matt Leaders 48-yard fumble return for the touchdown and a 7-yard blocked punt return for his second touchdown in the quarter. Tyler Jones chalked up 117 yards rushing in the game with two touchdowns and T. Kanne finished off the scoring for the Wildcats with a 2-yard touchdown run.

The #1 ranked Wildcats will face #3 Creighton Prep at Phelps Field on Wednesday night.

October 16

Millard West faced a strong defensive battle against Omaha Central Thursday night at Berquist Stadium before claiming a 17-7 victory.

Both teams remained scoreless at the half before the Wildcats offense responded with a Tyler Jones 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to tie the score at 7. 

The Wildcats broke the tie in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard field goal by Onken and Taylor Kanne secured the win for the Wildcats with a 37-yard touchdown run giving Millard West the 17-7 win. The Wildcats remain undefeated with a 7-0 record for the season.

Millard West hosts Omaha Benson next Friday night.

 

***October 9

Tyler Jones opened the scoring for Millard West with an 80-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage leading the Wildcats to a 49-13 victory over Omaha South Thursday night.

Jones carried for three more touchdown runs in the game with John Lazoritz scoring on a 19-yard pass from Taylor Kanne and Kanne scoring on a 14 and an 8-yard run for the Wildcats.

Millard West faces Omaha Central next Friday night.

***** October 2

Millard West took a 27-6 halftime lead over Papillion LaVista South in Friday night's game.

Tyler Jones scored the first three touchdowns in the game on runs of 11, 2 and 1yards. Jones ran for a Class A record 6 touchdowns in the game with 258 yards on 20 carries in the 47-6 victory for the Wildcats.

Millard West hosts Omaha South on Thursday night.

The Wildcats hold on to the #1 rating this week following a 13-6 victory over Millard South Friday night. The Wildcats remain undefeated with a 4-0 record for the season.

Millard South opened the scoring in the second quarter of Friday night's game, but Millard West responded with a 3-yard run by Tyler Jones to tie the score at 6 going into halftime. Brett Hagelstein scored the game winning touchdown on an 18-yard interception run in the third quarter as the Wildcats hold on for the 13-10 win.   

Millard West hosts Papillion LaVista South Friday night.

Millard West improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season with a 10-3 win at Kearney on Friday night. 

The 6th ranked Bearcats gave the Wildcats all they wanted and then some playing Kirk Peterson's pigskinners to a 3-3 tie through the first 3-plus quarters.  Sophomore quarterback Taylor Kanne provided the go-ahead and game-winning score on a 6-yard run early in the fourth-quarter.

Behind Kanne's 65 yards on the 11 carries, Millard West outgained Kearney 202-to-43 on the ground and had 7 more first downs than their host.

Up next for Millard West is a Friday night showdown with 3-0 Millard South.
