11-3 A strong 2nd half performance on both sides of the ball enabled Westside to overcome a 10 point halftime deficit and handing Burke a 35-24 loss. The Bulldogs raced to a 10-nothing lead in the first quarter, and matched Westside score for score in the 2nd period, taking a 24-14 lead to the locker room at the intermission. Chris Arkwright added to touchdown runs and Eddie Poe sprinted 67 yards for another score while the Warriors held Burke scoreless in the final 24 minutes. Quarterback Marcus Sladek was 11-18 for 210 yards and the  senior signal caller ran for another score from 11 yards out.

Westside will entertain Bellevue East at Phelps Field in a quarterfinal round game Monday night.

Omaha Westside was unable to hold on to a 28-0 halftime lead over Bellevue West in Thursday nights 49-52 loss to the Thunderbirds.

The Warriors offense started out strong against Bellevue West as Westside scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter as the defense held Bellevue West scoreless. The Warriors opened up the second half scoring first when Marcus Sladek connected with Max Fearnow on a 15-yard touchdown pass, before the momentum was captured by the Bellevue West offense. The Thunderbirds came back to tie the score at 35 early in the 4th quarter as the lead changed hands 3 times in the final four minutes.

10/21-Defense set the tone for the Westside Warriors against Omaha Northwest, scoring twice in the first quarter on an interception return and a blocked punt. It was 17-nothing and the Warriors had not picked up a first down. Seamus Monaghan returned an interception 31 yards and Drew Knutson scored from 25 yards out after the blocked punt. the Warriors prevailed 45-21, pushing their record to 8-0. Eddie Poe led a strong ground game, rushing for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Warriors close the regular season next Thursday night with a battle with Bellevue West. The T-Birds were unbeaten heading into Fridays game with Millard North.

The Westside Warriors capitalized on some crucial Omaha Burke miscues to claim a 34-21 win over the visiting Bulldogs Friday night. The Warriors remain undefeated this season and hold on to the #2 rating.

The Warriors answered the early 7-0 Omaha Burke lead with a 33-yard Jordan Alford field goal in the first quarter then opened up 24-14 lead by halftime on a 1-yard run by Lee Murray, a 3-yard run by Chris Arkwright and a 4-yard run by Eddie Poe. The Warriors increased their lead in the third quarter on a 27-yard field goal by Joradan Alford while the Westside defense held Burke scoreless for the quarter. Both teams scored in the fourth as Seamus Monaghan closed the scoring with a 50-yard touchdown run off an interception return to give the Warriors the 34-21 victory.

Westside travels to Omaha Northwest for a Thursday night game.

The Westside Warriors held on to their early lead to claim a 17-12 victory over host Millard North Friday night to remain undefeated for the season.

The Warriors opened the scoring early in the first quarter on a 45-yard Eddie Poe touchdown run. Quarterback Marcus Sladek connected on a 7-yard pass to Max Fearnow to add to the Westside score, giving the Warriors a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Jordan Alford was successful on a 24 yard field goal in the second quarter securing the 17-12 halftime lead for the Warriors. The Westside defense was strong in the second half holding Millard North scoreless to giving the Warriors the win.

Westside hosts Omaha Burke Friday night at Phelps Field

The Westside Warriors remain undefeated after Friday night's defensive battle over Papillion LaVista at Phelps Field. The Warriors claim the 13-6 win to advance to 5-0 for the season.

The Warriors opened the scoring in the second quarter on a 1-yard run by Lee Murray with Jordan Alford adding the extra point giving Westside a 7-0 halftime lead.

The second half opened with the Warriors capitalizing on a Monarch kick-off fumble that was recovered by Marcus Palimenio at the Monarch 34. Quarterback Marcus Sladek rolled out and found David Struble alone in the back end of the end zone on second and six from the Monarch 18 to put the Warriors ahead 13-0. The Westside defense held on to limit the Monarchs to one touchdown in the fourth quarter, stalling the Papillion LaVista offense in their final drive of the game giving the Warriors the 13-6 victory. 

Sladek completed 10 of 15 for 74 yards in the game.

Omaha Westside travels to Millard West for Friday night's match-up of undefeated teams.

The Westside Warriors traveled to Norfolk on Friday night to claim a 34-7 victory over Norfolk High School. The Warriors remain undefeated for the season with a 4-0 record.

Omaha Westside jumped off to an early lead in the first quarter when Marcus Sladeck threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Max Fearnow and Alford added the extra point. The Warriors opened up a 27 point lead in the second quarter while the defense held Norfolk to one touchdown for the game.

The game turned into a defensive battle in the second half as the game ended in a 34-7 win for the Warriors.

Omaha Westside hosts Papillion LaVista on Friday night.

***** September 18 

In an exciting overtime victory over the #1 ranked Creighton Junior Jays, the Westside Warriors remain undefeated for the season. The Warriors rallied from a 14-point deficit early in the second half to tie the score at 21 with 5:13 remaining on the clock.

Creighton Prep scored first in the game on Friday before an estimated 7,300 fans at Phelps Field holding a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Westside responded in the second quarter when Seamus Monaghan scored on a 4-yard pass from Marcus Sladek with Jordan Alvord adding the extra point. Prep opened the second half scoring adding 2 touchdowns in the third quarter before Westside answered in the fourth quarter. Max Fearnow scored on a 9-yard pass from Sladek to begin the comeback in the fourth quarter, following the recovery of a bumbled snap by Prep. The Warrior defense held Prep giving the Westside offense the opportunity to tie the score. Sladek delivered again on a 28-yard scoring pass to Seamus Monaghan who made a incredible leaping catch in the end zone with two Prep defenders on him. The Warrior defense again did their job holding Prep scoreless as the clock ran down to give Westside the chance to win in overtime. Chris Arkwright plowed his way across the goal line from the 1 to break the tie in overtime giving Westside the 28-21 victory over Creighton Prep.

The Warriors travel to Norfolk for Friday night's match-up.

9/8 A quick start helped propell Westside to a 17-12 win over the hard luck Millard North Mustangs Friday. The victory was tainted somewhat because of a shoulder injury to Quarterback Jeff Tarpinian, who left late in the first half and never returned. Nevertheless, the Warriors held off a late 3rd period threat, then on Millard North's last shot at the end zone, Jake Behrens was stopped short on a 4th and 2 to save the victory. Westside is now 6-0 with the Warriors hosting Burke Friday. Eddie Poe's 45 yard run was the offensive highlight for Marty Kauffman's squad.
